When approaching the framework presented here, the first step is to find something that is repetitive or causing friction in your daily routine. Below are some ways that I've added automation to my daily life. If a hyperlink is showing, you may click to more information about that automation.
These automations are all created in the iPhone Shortcuts App and are used in my daily routine.
Send a text to my husband when I leave work to give him my ETA home
Automatically set my Work Focus when I arrive to our campus
Automatically turn off Wifi when my phone connects to my car
Automatically set my Personal Focus when I arrive at home
Automatically set my Church focus when I arrive to the church campus
Automatically turn on Wifi and connect to a network when arriving at my daughter's school
When my husband texts me a secret code, my phone gets current location, takes a photo from the front and back camera, and sends me a text message so I can identify where it is lost
When anyone sends me a different secret code, my phone turns up the volume and plays a song loudly so I can find it
When I am in personal focus at home and open a social media app, I get an alert on my phone to "Pause and be present"
When my battery level falls below 25%, my phone automatically goes into battery save mode
For some automations, I use NFC tags mounted in specific locations that when tapped will start an automation on my phone.
Below are links to some of the NFC tags I've used. I may receive commission as an Amazon Affiliate.
